Wishing you all Neighborhoodworms a Happy New Year!! More importantly let’s help continue to support the good old neighborhood joints that we treasure this year.
For this new year entry I want to share with you my favorite Bo-Lor-Bow (BLB) (or Pineapple Bun) joint in Hong Kong.
For those of us living in Hong Kong, we may take such pedestrian snacks for granted. But once in a while you come across one that is REALLY SPECIAL, such as the Bo-Lor-Bow’s at Kam Wah in Mongkok.
You can probably see the crowd of people outside waiting for the latest batch of goodies coming out of the oven. You pay in advance, and they give you a ticket for your order. The large tray of Bor-Lor-Bows are usually all sold within minutes. You then would have to wait for the next batch.
I have been here many times, and their quality is always consistent.
You can sit down inside (naturally cramped in Mongkok) and get a milk tea to wash down the BLB. But most people get their BLB’s to go.
