Bike + Mittens, Beijing, China

Extreme conditions call for desperate measures, which can be comical sometimes. We have here a witty invention: a pair of mittens attached (with a string) to the handles of a bicycle/ moped. We all know how unbelievably cold Beijing can get in the winter time. The sub-zero temperature would only be further exacerbated when riding on a moped, so it makes perfect sense to attache the mittens permanently (seasonal) to the handles of the moped. Bravo!

I loved seeing these all over the city. Between the mittens on the bikes and the super old orange telephone booths walking there was also something entertaining in sight. http://jaredmk.wordpress.com/
